Each week you are notified if your swimmer is going to be in the upcoming weekend’s A Meet. Although we want to have FUN FIRST at Mansion House, we still want to be as competitive as we can for A Meets each Saturday. The following have been long-standing rules at Mansion House that both the Coaching Staff and the Swim Reps want to make sure everyone is aware of and adheres to moving forward.

FRIDAY FREE SWIM

It has been a tradition that children that are swimming in an A Meet on a given weekend should relax and stay out of the pool once practice is complete on Fridays to allow your body to relax and stay out of the sun/heat before the big meet. We ask that these swimmers refrain from free play at the pool on those Fridays. Coach Joel and Coach Sean also feel that this is important and will look to remind swimmers on Fridays at practice. We ask for your help as parents/guardians to help us enforce this practice.

TEAM AREA

A MEETS - Your swimmer is to stay in the TEAM AREA until the end of the meet. (The only exception if you denote an early excuse on Swimtopia when informing us of your eligibility for the weekend and follow up with Coach Joel.) Your swimmer is not allowed to leave the area without checking in with a coach (bathroom, snack, or talk to mom/dad). The meet is over after we are done swimming and cheering for our team, and practice good sportsmanship at the end by shaking hands with the other team. The coaching staff will work on reminding swimmers which event they are in and which relays they are in, we ask that you do the same at home when we send out the info early in the week.

This applies for all MEETS A/B – or otherwise, no one should leave without telling a coach. This is for the benefit of the team to make sure your child is present for their swim and for your child’s safety and well-being.
