2019 Mansion House Swim Team Piranha-Thon
Mansion House Piranhas
Each year the swim team holds a Swim-a-thon to raise money for a cause. Over the years we have raised money for a variety of different organizations this year will be no different. This year Mansion House Swim Team Piranha-Thon will raise money to assist one of our own Piranha Families – The Jewett’s.
Eric and his wife Meg Jewett along with their girls Lindy, Evie and Charlie have been long-standing members of the pool and swim and tennis teams members to date. Eric has been as constant as the North Star as a Stroke and Turn Judge at each meet and Meg assisting on deck. Eric Jewett was in a very serious car accident on April 29, and was cared for in the ICU Trauma Unit at Fairfax INOVA. On May 22, 2019, he was moved to the Acute Care Unit.
On May, 30, Eric was flown to a rehab facility in Chicago which is rated #1 in the country for rehab for TBI and Stroke. Meg has been traveling each week back and forth from Alexandria to Chicago between Eric and the girls – until he returns to the area, hopefully soon.
Attached you will find pledge sheets and information sheets. On July 4th both you and your swimmer (yes adults are encouraged to get in the lanes and swim either with their kids or by themselves – join the coaches and swim reps in the water) can take to the lanes to swim laps. Your swimmer can ask family and friends to sponsor them to swim their laps. Participation in the Piranha-Thon is optional.
We will need lap counters during the morning as well. Swimming Starts at 8:00 ends at 11:00 – just show up and swim.
If you have questions please contact the swim reps.
Jeff, Walter and Manu
